HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
The school was founded in 2018 (as the Escuela de Teatro Playback Entrespejos) in the Spanish city of Salamanca. It operates in affiliation with the Centre for Playback Theatre (New York, USA).
Training is provided by way of weekly courses or intensive trainings over several days. We try to offer prices which are accessible to students from all backgrounds, and scholarships are also available. The training is provided in Salamanca as well as in other Spanish and Portuguese localities, depending on need.
The trainers are experienced teachers who have completed Playback Theatre training to the highest level and/or are Accredited Trainers. The school also has links with the International Playback Theatre Network (IPTN).
In 2019, the school changed its name to the Iberian School of Playback Theatre to reflect the close connection between Spanish and Portuguese trainers, as well as the geographical and cultural links between the two countries and their Playback communities.
